Ramsden Eyepieces
This is one of the simplesthigh resolution lenses but it’s a positive one. It is partially the same and partially different from the negative eyepiece. In this, both the eye lens and field are kept in plano-convex form, the same as the Huygenian lens, but the field lens is placed with its curved surface facing toward the eye lens. They give clearer and crisper images and are widely used in astronomical telescopes and scientific microscopes. The image projection can change with the change in the focal length.
Kellner or Modified Simple Eyepieces
This is the modified version of the Ramsden eyepieces. Kellner lenses is a three-lens design, with two lenses acting as the field lens and a single convex lens as the eye lens. It is used to improve eyepieces containing a doublet of eye-lens elements cemented together and feature a higher eyepoint than either the Ramsden or Huygenian eyepiece. This quality makes it highly versatile and adaptable in many important tasks completion.
