Contributing to a Safe and Secure Automotive Society Through Advanced Precision Optical Technology – Automotive Lenses
As more sophisticated detection capabilities are necessary for sensors utilized in autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS/ADAD), we continue to take on the challenge of creating high-specification automotive lenses that serve as “eyes” of these sensors.
With a view towards creating a safe and secure automotive society, our goal is to contribute towards solving social issues such as traffic accidents and increased congestion by offering SUPERIOR Optics’ products used by image sensors and LiDAR that support preventive safety and autonomous driving. Autonomous driving uses a variety of sensors to detect the surrounding environment and the driver’s condition in order to control the car’s movement.
Technology that Serves as the “Eyes” – Automotive Lenses of Autonomous Driving
Automotive sensing camera with automotive lenses play an essential role in autonomous driving. They detect vehicles, pedestrians and traffic signs. Based on digital images captured by cameras and accurately controlling the car.
The camera cannot detect images when there is no visibility or direct light shining on the camera. LiDAR, a light sensor technology, can be used to measure distances to objects by measuring disturbance and reflected lights compared to laser irradiation.
We are developing and manufacturing automotive lenses for LiDAR as well as for sensing cameras.
